Motorola Edge 50 Ultra

Periscope zoom camera in Motorola Edge 50 Ultra renders leak

Following the recent leaks of Motorola’s Edge 50 Pro and Edge 50 Fusion, the trio of upcoming devices is now complete with a leak of the Edge 50 Ultra, the top model in the range. The Edge 50 Pro is set to be officially announced on 03 April 2024, and the Edge 50 Fusion could potentially join it, based on the latest rumours. Interestingly, the Edge 50 Ultra versions also show an April 3 date on the display, just like the others, hinting at a possible simultaneous launch. This could mean all three devices are set to be introduced next week. However, 03 April 2024 is next Wednesday, and these renders say "Tue Apr 3" so perhaps you need to stay cross fingered for the details.

The setup will also include laser autofocus and a multi-LED flash. The phone will be available in three colors: light beige, black, and Peach Fuzz. The black model seems to feature a faux leather finish, while the Peach Fuzz variant may follow the same design. The light beige version comes with a continuous finish throughout the back which smoothly transitions into the raised camera island.

The handset has a touchscreen with curved sides. The Edge 50 Ultra is going to debut Motorola's new Android skin called Hello UI, which will come with a promise of three major Android updates. Apparently, the Edge 50 Ultra should cost $999. The Edge 50 Ultra is expected to be rebranded as Motorola Edge+ 2024 or Edge Ultra 2024 in the US.

The Edge 50 Ultra is said to use the just unveiled Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, which is basically a 'lite' version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 launched last year. The phone will also have three 50 MP cameras on the back, with an ultra-wide at 12 mm and a periscope at 72 mm that may offer 3x optical zoom.

WhatsApp introduces one minute video status

WhatsApp to finally let users share 1-minute videos on status update

WhatsApp has introduced a new feature that users have been eagerly waiting for - the ability to post longer videos on their status. Before this update, you could only upload videos up to 30 seconds long. But now, WhatsApp has increased the limit to one minute, in response to the requests of many users.

WhatsApp is following footsteps of Instagram by allowing 1-minute video share on status updates. In an effort to improve the user experience, WhatsApp has been bringing a range of upgrades over the last few months and continues to do so. The platform has been upgraded to great extents, from introducing WhatsApp channels to making major UI changes, further hinting that there is more to go. WhatsApp recently unveiled a much-awaited feature that will allow users to upload a minute-long clip to their status in one such move.

This change makes it easier for people to share their favorite moments and updates with their contacts. You no longer have to worry about cutting or shortening your videos to fit the 30-second limit. This comes as a result of longstanding requests from several users who have been urging the platform to extend the previous 30-second limit on video uploads. WhatsApp now aims to permit one-minute videos on its status feature, just like Instagram, in line with the requests. Users will no longer need to crop or shorten their videos to 30 seconds. WhatsApp will automatically split it into 60-second segments, if the video exceeds the one-minute mark.

If your video is longer than one minute, WhatsApp will automatically divide it into 60-second segments for you. To use this new feature, following are the steps you need to take:-

1. On your Android or iOS device, open the WhatsApp application.

2. Go to the ‘Status’ tab, which is usually found at the bottom of the screen.

3. Tap on the ‘My Status’ icon to start creating a new status update.

4. Choose the video you want to upload from your phone’s gallery.

5. Make sure the video is not longer than one minute.

6. Once you’ve confirmed the length, tap on the upload button to share it with your contacts.

With this update, WhatsApp is making its status feature more versatile and user-friendly, similar to other social media platforms like Instagram. Now, you can share more of your experiences and memories with your friends and family on WhatsApp without any limitations. This enhancement is another step towards improving the user experience and keeping up with the evolving needs of all users around the world.
