Release of iOS 18

Expected release of iOS 18 public beta by Apple

It’s been almost a month since Apple started beta testing iOS 18 with developers. This upcoming operating system update will bring several new features, including big changes to the foundation of the iPhone OS with redesigns to the Home Screen, Lock Screen, Control Centre and so much more. With an official release coming in September, users are now questioning when Apple will release the iOS 18 public beta. Apple shared that the iOS 18 public beta will arrive in July, but when exactly? Here’s when to expect the iOS 18 public beta release date. If Apple’s trend holds, that puts the iOS 18 public beta release during the week of July 15. It’s based on the last two years Apple doing the release 5 weeks after the first developer beta. In previous years, Apple usually released a major iOS public beta update right after pushing out version three for developers. Following are the details:-

iOS 17 public beta 1: 12 July, 2023 (after June 5 developer beta release)

iOS 16 public beta 1: 11 July, 2022 (after June 6 developer beta release)

iOS 15 public beta 1: 30 June, 2021 (after June 7 developer beta release)

iOS 14 public beta 1: 09 July, 2020 (after June 22 developer beta release)

iOS 13 public beta 1: 24 June, 2019 (after June 3 developer beta release)

Other than the iOS 15 public beta, which was released in late June, Apple usually releases its first public beta around mid-July. With that in mind, it’s probably safe to say that the iOS 18 public beta is just around the corner. As per previous trends, Apple released the first iOS 18 beta for developers after the WWDC keynote. While it is free for anyone to install, it’s not intended to be installed on your main iPhone. But we’re not far away from a more stable beta release intended for the public. It generally arrives close to the third developer beta just over a month after WWDC.

If everything goes well, the public beta should be available the following week. The release date for the first iOS 18 public beta is expected to be between 15 July and 18 July. There’s always a chance Apple could shake things up and do a four or six-week interval between the developer and public beta. The former would make for a 8-10 July release and the latter would mean a 22-24 July launch.

Procedure to Download
