One of the best iPhone apps is coming to Android

Expect Android with one of the best desktop and iOS browsers

Good news, Android users! One of the best iOS apps released this year is finally coming soon to Android. The app in question is Arc Search. Created by the same company behind the Arc Browser web browser for Mac and Windows, Arc Search is a mobile browser which strongly emphasizes straightforward, simple browsing, with a nice pinch of AI on top. Following are the some of the important points:-

Arc Search is finally coming to Android with a streamlined, clutter-free experience.

The app focuses on search, launching straight into a search field with no tabs in sight, making it super easy to start typing right away.

The browser's customized website-style results cut down on mental clutter, offering a unique search experience.

Since its launch this January, Arc Search has been iPhone-only, but it looks like that will soon change. On Threads, the official Arc account recently posted that “Arc Search coming to Android.” The post also includes a screen recording of the Arc Search app running on an Android phone. Arc Search brings a fresh approach with its collapsible menu, making it easier to manage your tabs. Instead of juggling multiple open tabs, everything you need is neatly tucked away in one place, cutting down on the mental clutter and saving you time.

Arc Search's upcoming arrival on Android was confirmed by the company itself on Threads in response to a user query. The Browser Company introduced Arc Search on iOS earlier this year, bringing in some cool features that you don’t usually see in other browsers. One standout feature is the customized website-style results, which pull information from six different sites into one view, so you won’t have to juggle multiple tabs. The Android version will presumably come with the same feature set. While there’s certainly no shortage of web browsers already available for Android, Arc Search is special. People who have been using it on my iPhone for the last few months say that it’s become our go-to browser of choice, because searching on it is just lovely. It's pretty similar to the summaries you get with Google's AI search results. But if those aren’t your thing, you can still run a regular Google search by typing your query and pressing “go” on the keyboard. The Arc-generated summaries only show up if you tap the "browse for me" button. And if you’d rather skip the summaries altogether, just pop a URL into the search bar, and you’ll head straight to the site.

When you type in a new search query in Arc Search, you can perform a normal Google Search or tap the Browse for Me button. If you do the latter, Arc Search takes your search, analyses numerous webpages, and then creates a personalized webpage with a detailed answer to your question, including helpful bullet points, related photos and source links showing where it pulled its information from. Probably, it’s the best way to quickly find the answer to just about any question that comes to mind throughout the day.

The app’s name says it all, it’s all about search. When you open it, you jump straight into a search field with the keyboard ready, no tabs in sight. This means you don't need to tap on anything, you’re ready to type as soon as the app launches. Arc Search for Android is expected to run on the Chromium engine, just like Google Chrome. You can still use Arc Search like a regular web browser, but the Browse for Me feature really sets it apart. It also has an excellent voice search feature, including a Raise to Call Arc mode which allows you to hold your phone to your ear and talk to Arc Search as if it were a person.

The Arc Search app, like its desktop counterpart, automatically archives your tabs after 24 hours, so you don’t end up with a cluttered mess of sites you'll never revisit. If you need more time, you can keep tabs open for up to 30 days. There's also a reader mode, similar to Safari’s, that strips away all the clutter on busy websites, making articles much easier to read. And it’s got built-in blockers for trackers, ads and banners, keeping things nice and clean by default. Arc Search isn’t the most customizable or feature-rich web browser, but it is one of the most efficient, and that’s precisely people enjoyed using it so much. Presently, we don’t know when the Android app will launch, though the team’s Threads post indicates it's coming in the near future.
