WhatsApp improves picture sharing even better
The Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp is always working to make the user experience better by bringing updates and enhancements to the existing features. In its latest version update, the platform is rolling out a much-needed feature for those who love to share pictures as per reports available. iPhone users can share photos more easily on WhatsApp. WhatsApp, in its latest update for iOS users, has introduced a convenient shortcut to swiftly open the photo library.
WhatsApp has just submitted a new stable update for iOS, available on the App Store. WhatsApp is surely a go-to app when it comes to sending pictures but there was a drawback. Even high-quality images would lose their resolution to some extent if sent via WhatsApp. However, the issue will no longer be there as the WhatsApp developers have brought an innovation within the app with which the users will be able to share high-definition (HD) pictures. The new feature called "HD photos" will preserve the resolution of the pictures after the users install the latest beta versions. "This feature definitely improves the user experience while sending images, and it is rolling out to some beta testers." However, the feature has been rolled out for iOS only and some beta testers may be able to see the new option which allows them to manage the photo quality.
The iPhone users of the messaging app will now be able to share photos faster as they will not have to go through extra steps of opening the media library. Hence, the feature will streamline the user experience by eliminating unnecessary steps in accessing media content within chats. The update, denoted as WhatsApp for iOS 24.7.75, includes notable enhancements alongside various other improvements. While the official changelog on the App Store may lack comprehensive details about the new additions, users can now access the photo library with ease by long-pressing the attach button within the chat interface. Previously, you had to tap the attachment button and then select "Photo & Video" to choose an image. With the new update, a simple long press on the attachment button brings you right to your photos, saving you a tap.
The limited number of users will be able to use the new feature. The option only appears when a photo large in size has been selected for sending. It may be noted that the new feature doesn't mean that the photos will be transferred to their original quality "because this option preserves image dimensions, but light compression is still applied to the image". Moreover, whenever applied, the feature adds an "HD" mark on the message bubble which contains the sent image. Also, the feature is limited to images only as it will not apply to videos. For those who have yet to receive this feature, it is advised to stay proactive in updating WhatsApp from the App Store. The rollout may occur gradually over the coming weeks. So, it is advised that your app is up-to-date as it will ensure you can promptly access the latest features and improvements. You can update WhatsApp from the App Store and the TestFlight app. If you don't see the update yet, don't worry. WhatsApp is rolling it out gradually, so you might receive it in the near future. The feature will be available to all users over the world.
