New Features with iOS 17.2 Update are expected for iPhone users
Apple released an urgent iOS 17.1.2 update to fix some security issues but all eyes are eager to see when the iOS 17.2 update finally rolls out for iPhone users. It has been put through the beta tests for a few weeks, and it is likely that we will be seeing the new version pop-up on the iPhones in the near future. There has been a lot about what iOS 17.2 promises to bring for iPhone users and frankly there are quite a few features which have caught people’s eyes. But we are looking at the 5 important features which will be available on iPhones once they are upgraded to iOS 17.2 version.
Apple will finally let iPhone users change their alert sounds for third-party apps which was restricted before this to iMessage, calls, mails and calendar. In addition, Apple will also bring support for changing haptic feedback for all your alerts and notifications. In iOS 17.2, you can turn off your Apple Music Listening History with a new Focus filter. This means that you can allow someone else to use your iPhone to listen to music and using the Focus mode you can avoid the Apple Music recommendation engine from throwing music suggestions from their history on the app.
Apple has introduced the new Action Button on the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models which is reportedly coming to all the iPhone 16 models next year. But with the iOS 17.2 update, iPhone 15 Pro can activate the Action button to open the Translate app straight on the Dynamic Island notch. Action Button is already letting iPhone users activate ChatGPT, so it feels like the logical next from Apple for the feature.
Expletive content on iPhones after the iOS 17.2 update will see warnings expansion on the screen. The feature is not going to be enabled by default but if you do decide to use the tool, Apple will rely on the on-device machine learning tech to analyse the photos or videos and blur them if something unwanted shows up. The feature is available for Messages, AirDrop file transfers and FaceTime video messages as well.
Apple is bringing iMessage Contact Key Verification with iOS 17.2 that will improve security for users such as journalists, human rights activists and government officials facing digital threats. In conversations between users who have enabled iMessage Contact Key Verification, users are alerted if a state-sponsored attacker or other malicious actor succeed breaching cloud servers and inserting their own device to eavesdrop on the conversation of the users.
