Samsung Galaxy A56 will support 45W charging

Samsung Galaxy A56 will launch with One UI 7 on board and 45W charging support as confirmed by FCC certification

The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) recently certified the Samsung Galaxy A56 smartphone, confirming that the device will come with One UI 7 based on Android 15. The Galaxy A56, A36 and A26 leaked through TÜV Rheinland certifications. A follow-up leak sees the Galaxy A56 appear in FCC documents. The phone, SM-A566E/DS, is a dual-SIM version of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A56. The “Status information” screenshot shows that the phone is rated for 10V 4.5A charging, i.e. 45W, which confirms what we’ve heard previously. And yes, that’s more than the new flagship Galaxy S25 supports (25W).

The FCC database revealed the SM-A566E version of the smartphone, which is intended for countries from Asia and the Middle East. The certification documents revealed a screenshot of the phone's status screen, which shows that the battery icon refers to One UI 7. This confirms that the Galaxy A56 will run the latest version of Samsung's software. Earlier, the device also appeared in the Geekbench database, which indicated that it runs on Android 15.

The Samsung Galaxy A56 is expected to be powered by the new Exynos 1580 chipset and a 5,000mAh battery. The Galaxy A36 is also expected to have a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging, but that one will be powered by either the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 or the 7s Gen 2. Earlier, there was a leak with the expected Galaxy A56 features and price (£440, same as the A55 launch price). Anyway, the FCC only tested with the EP-TA800, a relatively old charger that tops out at 25W. We’re not sure why the testers chose this one, but it’s not like the A56 is going to ship with a charger. The phone (the version tested by FCC, at least) supports the following 5G bands: 1, 3, 5, 7, 8, 20, 28, 38, 40, 41, 66, 77, 78. Local connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 6 (ax), Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC.

In addition, the FCC has confirmed that the Galaxy A56 supports 5G, Bluetooth 5.3 and 45W fast charging. This data is in line with previous leaks. Considering that the Galaxy A56 is already certified by multiple platforms, we can expect Samsung to officially unveil this device soon. This isn’t the first Samsung mid-ranger with 45W charging, by the way, that honour goes to the Galaxy M55 from March last year (and its feat was replicated by several M, F and C-branded versions of the hardware).
