Apple’s expected new products

Apple’s launching 20+ Products this year

The new year has just begun, and Apple’s planning for 2025 to bring a big new push into Home products. It promises to be quite a big year for Apple, with the company rumoured to be planning more than 20 product announcements this year. Apple's rumoured smart home hub will be its second all-new product to launch in as many years, following the Apple Vision Pro headset last year. In addition, we will get several new iPhone and Apple Watch models, like every year. Beyond that, Apple could update some products that have not received any hardware refreshes in at least a few years, including the iPhone SE, AirTag, Apple TV, HomePod mini and Mac Pro. Following are the details of Home devices expected to launch in the year ahead.

HomePod mini 2

The large HomePod is on its second generation, but HomePod mini is still the same first-gen version that launched in 2020. Finally though, we’re getting the debut of the HomePod mini 2 this year. It’s possible Apple will find a way to bring full Apple Intelligence support to the device. But the company could also take a different approach by having HomePod mini 2 integrate more closely with your iPhone or other devices like the HomePad. Essentially, it would remain focused on being an affordable smart speaker, but get some of its smarts from nearby devices. Other than a release window, and the inclusion of Apple’s new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip, we know nothing about the new HomePod mini. Expect more details on HomePod mini 2 to leak in the near future. It is expected to arrive in late 2025.

‘HomePad’ device

Perhaps the most exciting new Home product of 2025 is Apple’s currently-unnamed ‘HomePad’ device. Apple is nearing the launch of a new product category: a wall-mounted display that can control appliances, handle videoconferencing and use AI to navigate apps. The device has a roughly 6-inch screen and looks like a square iPad. It’s about the size of two iPhones side by side, with a thick edge around the display. There’s also a camera at the top front, a rechargeable built-in battery and internal speakers. HomePad was expected in March initially, but recently suggested it might be a little later, perhaps in April alongside iOS 18.4. In any case, some time early this year should bring the arrival of this new Home device category for Apple. Some of HomePad’s important features are expected to include:-

Slideshows from the Photos app

Heavy Apple Intelligence focus with an upgraded Siri

Built-in security camera and video/audio intercom plus FaceTime

Runs Apple apps like Safari, Music and Notes

StandBy-like widgets, Home app controls and more

New TV 4K

It’s been a couple years since the last Apple TV 4K debuted, and Apple is planning to debut a new version this year. It’s likely Apple will offer support for newer TV display technologies too. But those features aside, the new Apple TV 4K will likely keep the same basic form factor and OS as the existing hardware. The new Apple TV 4K is expected to arrive near the end of the year. We know little about the revised Apple TV 4K, but what we’re expecting include:-

Apple Intelligence support

an A18 or A17 Pro chip to support AI

new in-house Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip

Following is the full list of products expected from Apple.

First Half of 2025

MacBook Air models with M4 chip

iPhone SE (or "iPhone 16E")

AirTag

iPad Air

iPad 11

Powerbeats Pro 2

Mac Studio with M4 Max and M4 Ultra chips

Second Half of 2025

iPhone 17

"iPhone 17 Air"

iPhone 17 Pro

iPhone 17 Pro Max

Apple Watch Series 11

Apple Watch Ultra 3

Apple Watch SE 3

A new Apple TV

HomePod mini

MacBook Pro models with M5 chips

Timing Less Clear

These products are expected to launch at some point in 2025, but the exact timeframe has yet to be predicted:-

An all-new smart home hub

Mac Pro with M4 Ultra chip

iPad Pro with M5 chip (rumoured for late 2025 or early 2026)

Apple Vision Pro with M5 chip (rumoured for late 2025 or 2026)

Conclusion

Apple’s big new push into the smart home market follows years of Apple treating Home products like a hobby. We are hopeful the company has a compelling new strategy for its Home lineup. If Apple is able to build a powerful Home ecosystem, it could lead to even more new products moving forward, like an AirPort revival.
