Redmi Note 14 5G

 Redmi Note 14 5G and Redmi Buds 6 Officially Announced  

Xiaomi's announcements keep piling up and the latest additions are the Redmi Note 14 5G and Redmi Buds 6. Note 14 joins the Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+ as the entry-level device in the series while the Buds 6 are the newest in-ear true wireless earbuds from Xiaomi’s sub-brand. 

The Redmi Note 14 comes with a 6.67-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone comes with a peak brightness of 2,100 nits, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In terms of power, it houses the MediaTek Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset, offering up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with microSD expansion support. The Hybrid Dual SIM slot also supports microSD card expansion. Note 14 gets MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025 Ultra chipset which is paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone includes a 50MP main camera with Sony’s LYT-600 sensor and OIS, alongside a 2MP macro lens. For selfies, it has a 16MP front-facing camera housed in a punch-hole cutout.

In terms of colors, it comes in Starry White, Phantom Blue, and Midnight Black. The Redmi Note 14 runs Xiaomi Hyper OS, based on Android 14, designed for smooth performance and enhanced security. It comes with a  5,110mAh battery, supporting 45W fast charging, and goes from 0% to 50% charge in about 30 minutes. Open sales in China will begin soon, with potential for global release in the near future. Its blend of high-end features and affordability makes it a strong contender in the mid-range market. The Redmi Note 14 is priced at CNY 1,199 ($170) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB variant and CNY 1,699 ($245) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB model.  The back houses two cameras, a 50MP main shooter using Sony’s LYT-600 sensor with OIS and a 2MP macro lens. You also get a 16MP front-facing camera which is housed inside the punch hole cutout on the display. 

The Redmi Buds 6 are the upgraded successors to last year’s Redmi Buds 5, offering several notable enhancements. They are equipped with dual drivers, including 12.4mm titanium-coated dynamic drivers and 5.5mm piezoelectric tweeters. The Buds 6 features Bluetooth 5.4 and supports pairing with two devices simultaneously. Additionally, the Redmi Buds 6 comes with 360 spatial audio and customizable EQ profiles, accessible through the Xiaomi Headphones app, for users who like to play around with their electronic settings. The active noise cancellation (ANC) system now blocks up to 49dB of surrounding noise, retaining the three noise-canceling modes from the previous generation. Redmi Buds 6 comes in White, Black, and Cyan. Battery life has been significantly improved, offering up to a whopping 42 hours of total playback time when combined with the charging case, a huge improvement for all those music enthusiasts out there. The Redmi Buds 6 are priced at CNY 199 ($30), providing a solid option for users seeking affordable, feature-rich wireless earbuds. The Buds feature Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and support dual device pairing. The active noise cancelation (ANC) system now drowns out up to 49dB of surrounding noise and features the same three modes. Battery life has been boosted to 42 hours of total playtime from the buds and their charging case.
