Samsung Android 15 One UI 7 Delay

Delay in Samsung Android 15 One UI 7 Update

After missing its initially expected release date, Samsung’s Android 15 update seems to be looking at a much later launch, as sources claim it has been delayed “indefinitely.” Some sources suggested that Samsung was holding back One UI 7 for the sake of the One UI 6.1.1 rollout, which has also yet to begin. However, it seems like it may be more than that. Android 15 was expected to arrive on Samsung devices later this year, but we are already hearing a lot about the One UI 7.0 update. Samsung has been working on its Android 15 update, with One UI 7, behind the scenes for a while now, and the update was expected to be unveiled publicly late last month. But that initial date came and went without a launch, despite many leaks revealing what Samsung’s updated skin would bring to the table.  The Galaxy S24 series will be the first to get it on both Beta and Stable channels. However, dozens of Galaxy devices are also eligible for this major upgrade, forming a pretty big rollout whenever that happens.

Android 15

The new OS entered Developer Preview in February and Public Beta in April. Google so far released three major Public Beta updates for Pixel devices. The fourth Beta build could also be released in the near future. Android 15 focuses on improving device performance and power efficiency. It’s also well-optimized for the artificial intelligence era. Consumers can expect faster app loading, longer battery backup, enhanced security and privacy and core improvements at the OS level.

One UI 7

Samsung might kick off the One UI 7 Beta Program. For the Galaxy S23 series, the company released the first Beta in August 2023. We might not expect the same release timeframe for this year’s Beta activity, as expected the first batch will be of the Galaxy S24 lineup. Beyond flagships, the Korean tech giant may expand the Beta trial to select mid-range phones. Galaxy A55, Galaxy A35 and some Galaxy M series phones may also be eligible. Like every year, One UI 7 Beta should be available in at least 7 countries including the US.

One UI 7.0

Samsung is set to hold this year’s Developer Conference on 03 October. The event’s stage will be utilized to introduce new One UI 6 Watch and Tizen OS upgrades for TVs by the Korean tech giant. One UI Beta build might be installed on your primary handset if all goes well, but we prefer avoiding it. If you don’t want to counter bugs and functional errors, Beta activity isn’t for you. Consider waiting till the Stable rollout commences as Samsung will also provide new features with One UI 6.1.1.

Reliable sources say that Samsung has delayed the launch of One UI 7 and in turn, the company’s Android 15 update more than previously thought. Sources says Samsung has no plans to launch the beta “in the near future,” it might be “delayed indefinitely” by Samsung, adding that there is “low confidence” it could even launch in August. There have been passing mentions of bugs and issues with the update, but it does seem like a considerable portion of the holdup is simply due to the delayed rollout of One UI 6.1.1. Whatever the case, it also comes as Google seems to be slightly delayed on the launch of Android 15 as well. The company’s upcoming Pixel 9 lineup will reportedly launch with Android 14, while the August patch just went out based on Android 14 as well, implying it won’t arrive until at least September.
