 WhatsApp bringing a new feature to block messages from unknown accounts     

WhatsApp is rolling out a fresh beta update for Android users with version 2.24.17.24. This latest beta update for Android is focused on bolstering privacy for its users. This includes a forthcoming feature which will block messages from unknown accounts, enhancing user control and potentially improving device performance. Also it enhances user privacy and manages unknown messages. The latest update adds a feature that lets users block messages from unknown accounts if they send several messages. This means if someone you don’t know starts sending too many messages, WhatsApp will automatically block them.

WhatsApp is actively developing a feature to block messages from unfamiliar accounts. This feature, slated for a future update, aims to protect users from unwanted or even harmful communications. Users will be empowered to set a limit on the number of messages they're willing to receive from unknown contacts within a given time frame. Once that limit is surpassed, the app will automatically block any further messages from those accounts. Through the new feature, WhatsApp aims to protect users from spam and potentially harmful content. You just need to turn on a simple option named “Block unknown account messages” under advanced settings. 

In addition to blocking unwanted messages option, this update also improves app performance. By reducing the number of messages coming from unknown sources, WhatsApp can prevent the app from slowing down or crashing due to too much data. Previously, WhatsApp brought another privacy feature which allowed users to turn off link previews. This feature stops automatic previews from appearing when you share links.
