Samsung Galaxy C55

Official Launch of

Samsung Galaxy C55

Samsung introduced the Galaxy C55 in China without much fanfare.  After a couple of leaks, the Galaxy C55 is finally official and has stealthily been added to Samsung’s line up in China.. Well, more or less because Samsung didn’t reveal any details about price or availability. However, the mid-ranger is now listed on Samsung China’s official website, so it’s safe to assume that it will soon go on sale. The phone is essentially identical to the Galaxy M55 but has two new back panels with leather finish, Orange and Black.

Samsung has officially unveiled another mid-range smartphone for global audience. You may remember that this isn’t even the first Android device to ship under the “C55” moniker. You may remember that last year, Realme launched its own C55 device. A device that cloned the iPhone “Dynamic Island” software tricks using the in-screen punch-hole. Name aside, Samsung isn’t replicating any of those software tricks – this is a budget device, after all, the C55 comes with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display tuned at FHD+ resolution, according to the official page listings.

Specs-wise, we know everything now that the phone has popped up on Samsung China’s website. As previously reported, the Galaxy C55 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, paired with 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The Galaxy C55's key features are the 6.7” OLED display and the 50 MP main camera. There's also a 5,000 mAh battery inside. The 45W wired charging speed is the highest in the Samsung porfolio, matching the Galaxy S24 Ultra and beating the likes of the Galaxy S24.

Another highlight of the phone is the more than decent 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with 120Hz refresh rate. On the back, the Galaxy C55 features a triple camera setup that consists of a 50-megapixel main sensor, as well as 8-megapixel ultrawide and 5-megapixel macro cameras. There’s also an impressive 50-megapixel selfie snapper on the front. Storage is 256 GB, while RAM options are 8 GB and 12 GB, respectively. Samsung Galaxy C55 is powered by a large 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. The phone, which is a rebranded version of the Galaxy M55. It’ll be available in two leather finishes: Colorful Orange and Fashion Black. The black models also appear to have blue stitching along the outer edges, while the orange model has a gold metal frame.

According to the latest reports, the Galaxy C55 will be available for purchase in China for 2,000 yuan, which is about $275. The more expensive version will sell for 2,300 yuan ($320), but this model packs more memory. The phone is currently unavailable online, it can only be purchased from physical Samsung Experience Stores across China. Attempting to add to a cart redirects and suggests heading to a brick-and-mortar Samsung store in the region. Both should hit the shelves on or around April 28.
