WhatsApp introduces new feature

WhatsApp rolls out new feature to Fix link preview bug

WhatsApp is rolling out a new beta update for Android devices, which brings a fix to the link preview bug. Users can identify the latest beta update through version 2.26.6.10 and can now install latest update from Google Play Store. According to reports available, several beta testers encountered an issue where image preview for links with large thumbnails did not display correctly, causing inconvenience after the WhatsApp Beta v2.24.6.4 update. WhatsApp, the Meta-owned social messaging platform have introduced a new feature to resolve the issue of annoying link preview bug.

Specifically, it appears that this issue is limited to links that generate a large thumbnail, causing them to fail to display properly within the chat interface. Despite attempts to resolve the issue through temporary solutions such as restarting devices or force-stopping the app, the problem persisted and required a dedicated bug-fix update. The issue was mainly affecting users with auto-update enabled, as they automatically upgraded to the buggy version.

Restarting the device or killing the app didn’t resolve the issue, so a new bug-fix update was needed to get a final solution. Now, the new 2.24.6.10 beta update is available on the Google Play Store. It addresses this glitch and lets users share links with a proper preview. WhatsApp advised users to install this latest build to avoid any disruption in their app experience.  It is a bug-fix update that finally addresses the issue. This means that users can finally share links without experiencing this issue.
