 Samsung's One UI 6.1 Update expands Galaxy AI features to More Galaxy Devices 

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. extended the availability of Galaxy AI1 features on more Galaxy devices through a new One UI 6.1 update engineered to further the democratization of mobile AI. Aligning with the recently launched Galaxy S24 series2, this update elevates the standard of users’ mobile AI experience through a hybrid approach which combines on-device and cloud-based AI. With a rollout planned for the this month's end, the One UI 6.1 update offers an elevated mobile AI experience for users of the Galaxy S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5 and the Tab S9 series. Internationally recognised for pushing boundaries in the field of mobile innovation, Samsung's latest update seeks to democratise the mobile AI experience further. This new offering combines both on-device and cloud-based AI, closely aligning with the technology in the recently launched Galaxy S24 series.

The latest UI update brings a host of Galaxy AI features designed to break down communication barriers. Available on AI-supported models, these functions include the Chat Assist tool, which can adjust message tone and translate messages in 13 different languages. Meanwhile, the Live Translate and Interpreter features facilitate real-time interaction and spontaneous conversation, offering both voice and text translations for phone calls and live discussions. With Interpreter, users can also engage in spontaneous conversations with locals while traveling as the split-screen feature generates text translations for live conversations.

Beyond enhancing communication, the new update seeks to streamline user experience in day-to-day tasks. The broader integration of Galaxy AI across the Galaxy ecosystem also enables seamless user experience in day-to-day tasks on AI-supported models, driving new levels of efficiency. Search functions are improved through Circle to Search with Google5, which generates intuitive search results with a swift circle-motioned gesture. Life-enhancing organization features such as Note Assist6 allow users to create formats, generate summaries and translate notes, while Browsing Assist7 enables individuals to stay up to faster speed. In addition, Browsing Assist and Transcript Assist can create comprehensive summaries of news articles, transcribe meeting recordings, and provide translations. These tools, all optimised for AI-supported models, aim to increase productivity and efficiency.

Samsung's Galaxy AI also brings several advanced artistic tools to foster and enable user creativity. With Galaxy AI, Samsung is doubling down on its role in unlocking individuals’ creative potential. Galaxy’s latest update delivers a suite of Galaxy AI tools that encourages creative freedom even after a photo is taken. Through Generative Edit8, AI-supported devices can easily resize, reposition, or realign objects in photos to perfect a great shot. Users can also polish any photo faster and easier than ever with Edit Suggestion9. No need for multiple re-shots as Instant Slow-mo10 can generate additional frames for slow-motion videos to capture action-packed moments. Further creativity and customisation are offered through AI-generated wallpapers, allowing users to personalise their AI-supported devices to reflect their artistic inclinations. Creativity and personalization do not stop there. Customizing Galaxy devices is even easier than before through AI-generated wallpapers, enabling AI-supported devices to bring users’ creativity to life.
