Motorola Edge 50 Pro leaks

Motorola Edge 50 Pro leaks suggests that it might beat Galaxy S24 Ultra

Motorola is working on its next high-end smartphone, the Edge 50 Pro, and a bunch of images depicting it have been leaked along with some details. Motorola Edge Plus (2024) is exceptional regarding charging performance because of 4500mAh battery with a 125 Watt wired fast charging. There are rumours that Motorola is preparing a new Edge series flagship, but it looks like leak pictures will ruin the surprise when it's officially shown. Along with a preview of its appearance, rumoured specifications indicates that it would be equipped to beat Samsung's Galaxy S24 Ultra. As per previous history, expect the same phone to be sold under not one, not two, but three different names in different markets - it will likely be called Motorola X50 Ultra in China, and Motorola Edge+ (2024) in the US, with the name Motorola Edge 50 Pro being used everywhere else.

What appears in the marketing illustrations of the next Motorola Edge 50 Pro, which is expected to launch in the US market as  Motorola Edge Plus (2024), have been obtained by different Headlines. Based on the supposed product images, it appears that Motorola is determined to retain its distinctive design aspect. The upcoming member of the Edge family will have a stunning curved display and a slim side profile, just like the previous two generations of high-end phones. The handset will come in purple, black and a silver/white/stone colour. The purple and black iterations might have faux leather backs. The Edge 50 Pro's triple rear camera setup includes a 50 MP f/1.4 main sensor, a 13mm ultra wide, and a 73mm telephoto which is probably going to be marketed as 3x optical zoom.

It appears that Motorola will be doing further design trials in 2024. The simulated leather surface finish of the purple tint seems to have been influenced by the treatment Motorola has recently applied to some of its foldable phones. Next up is the black version, which seems to take cues from the previous OnePlus phones' sandstone surface. The Edge 50 Pro will stick with a curved-sides display, 6.7" in size and coming with a 165 Hz refresh rate, which is among the highest for a smartphone, gaming or not. The phone will allegedly ship with a 4,500 mAh battery with support for 125W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Lastly, a white shade with a shiny side frame similar to platinum. We're not sure if the finish is modelled after fabric or something else entirely like the superb OnePlus 11 Marble Odyssey Edition. The minimalistic camera island in the back, which perfectly complements the rest of the rear panel. Similar styling was most recently seen on the Oppo Find X5, which comes in a gorgeous pearly white shade.

Top-of-the-line Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with up to 12GB of RAM powers the device inside, while the triple camera array at the rear is led by a 50-megapixel main sensor. The Motorola Edge Plus (2024) has exceptional performance in the field of charging technologies. It may be the fastest-charging phone on US, thanks to the 4,500mAh battery housed inside that sleek body, which purportedly enables 125W wired fast charging. To put things in perspective, those numbers are almost three to four times greater than the flagship phones from Samsung and Apple that are being released this year.

Furthermore, it is rumoured that the next phone will feature 50W wireless charging, which is even quicker than what wired charging has allowed Apple and Samsung to do thus far. Motorola appears to be attempting to overtake OnePlus, which at the moment permits 100W charging for the OnePlus 12. Interestingly, the leaked renders show the date of April 3, thus that may or may not be the date of its official announcement. The X50 Ultra could very well be the first of the identical triplets to become official, since Motorola has already started teasing it in China, however the release date for the US market is still unknown.
