 Tecno unveils Pova 6 Pro with 6,000mAh battery, Dimensity 6080, 108MP camera

The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is official and it follows its predecessor's gameplan - it's a gaming-leaning phone with an interesting design and an impressive set of specs for its price. Following are the details of specifications:-

Tecno Pova 6 Pro has stepped into the spotlight, adhering to the strategy of its predecessor – positioning itself as a gaming-centric smartphone boasting an intriguing design and an impressive array of specifications given its price point. Tecno has not revealed the price tag yet, but since the company’s Pova lineup always features budget pricing, we can expect the same from Pova 6 Pro. The Tecno Pova 6 Pro has a 6nm Dimensity 6080 chip paired with 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The chip is an eight-core unit with two 2.4GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55s computing units. The Mali-G57 MC2 handles graphics. Upfront, the Pova 6 Pro packs a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh rate. The Pova 6 Pro brings a massive 6,000mAh battery (1,000mAh more than its predecessor) with 70W charging and 10W reverse charging support.

Internals and Software

Powering the Tecno Pova 6 Pro is a 6nm Dimensity 6080 chip, coupled with either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. This chipset comprises an octa-core configuration, featuring two 2.4GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0GHz Cortex-A55 computing units. Graphics rendering is managed by the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.

Camera

The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is equipped with three cameras, albeit with one standing out as the primary contributor – a noteworthy 108 MP unit which serves as both a 3x zoom lens and supports digital zoom of up to 10x. Accompanying this primary sensor are a 2MP depth sensor and an ‘AI cam’. On the front side, there’s a 32MP selfie camera, complemented by its dual-tone LED flash, promising enhanced lighting for selfie captures.

Battery 

Enhancing its gaming prowess, the Pova 6 Pro boasts a substantial 6,000 mAh battery capacity, offering a notable increase of 1,000 mAh compared to its predecessor. Moreover, it supports 70W fast charging and 10W reverse charging capabilities. A supported charger is included in the retail box. The Tecno Pova 6 Pro ships with a USB cable, a case and a SIM eject tool.

Design and Display

At the front, the Pova 6 Pro sports a sizable 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, promising smooth visuals. Whether in Meteorite Grey or Comet Green, the Pova 6 Pro features a semi-transparent design Tecno calls the Dynamic-Tech Design. There's a lithography precision texture under the phone's transparent back and a series of LEDs called the Dynamic-Light Effect.

There is the Dynamic-Eye, surrounding one of the three lenses in the camera array, and the Dynamic-Light effect itself - a propeller-shaped LED strip. There are a total of 210 LEDs and 9 lighting modes with 101 user-defined effects to choose from. While we're at the back, the Tecno Pova 6 Pro has three cameras bur really only one to meaningfully contribute - a 108 MP unit that doubles as a 3x zoom (and up to 10x digital zoom). The other rear-facing units are a 2MP depth sensor and an 'AI cam'. Upfront, there's a 32 MP selfie that has its own dual-tone LED flash. The Tecno Pova 6 Pro is launching in the Philipines and Saudi Arabia. Rest of the world markets will follow later. The expected launch price is set at $229 for the 8GB/256GB version and $269 for the 12GB/256GB version. As mentioned earlier, availability details are yet to be revealed.
