Galaxy S20 gets security update in many countries
Samsung released the November 2023 security update to the Galaxy S20 series recently, but it was limited to Europe and the factory-unlocked models in the US on some networks. Now, the update is arriving for more Galaxy S20 series units across many countries, including the US.
The 4G LTE versions of devices in the Galaxy S20 series are getting the new security update in New Zealand. It comes with firmware version G98xFXXSIHWJF. In the US, the carrier-locked models of Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra are getting the new software update with firmware version G98xUSQS7HWJ1. It is available on Metro PCS and T-Mobile networks in the country. The European models are also getting updated in more countries.
The factory-unlocked Galaxy S20 series units are getting the November 2023 security update with firmware version G98xU1UES7HWJ4. This update is available on all carriers in the US. If you were hoping to see the Android 14-based One UI 6.0 update on your Galaxy S20 series phone, it isn't coming, as Android 13 was the last major software update for this model.
